You Could Join the UNNC Board

The UNNC is looking to fill two vacant seats on our Board and you may qualify.

The vacant governing board seats to be filled are: One At-Large Stakeholder and One Resident Representative for "Western Heights, Kinney Heights & Gramercy Place".

The United Neighborhoods Governing Board consist of 23 Board seats.

12 board seats are designated for residents of the six region areas within the neighborhood council boundaries (See Map) and 11 seats are for non resident stakeholders such as business, education, non-profit, cultural heritage and at large interests.

The board is elected by stakeholders. “Stakeholders” are those who live, work, or own property in the neighborhood and also those who declare a stake in the neighborhood and affirm the factual basis for it based upon their participation in among other things, parks, recreation areas, public safety organizations, environmental organizations, medical/health organizations, libraries, educational institutions, religious institutions, community organizations, service organizations, non-profit organizations, or other at large entities.

Responsibilities of a UNNC Governing Board member include:

  • All UNNC board members attend monthly governing board meetings on the first Thursday of every month.
  • All UNNC board members agree to a Code of Civility and to comply with UNNC Board Rules.
  • All UNNC board members agree to volunteer for UNNC-sponsored events and projects.
  • All UNNC board members must comply with the Department of Neighborhood Empowerment (DONE) regulations. UNNC Board Members are required to take the Funding Program Training and the Ethics Training, plus any other workshops and training sessions to further one’s awareness of DONE procedures and City requirements.

All Candidates must plan to interview with the UNNC Executive Committee on Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 7:00 PM at the Council District 10 office.
